Three-Time Nominees

Syria Civil Defense has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize three times, in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

International Elevate Award

In 2015, the Syrian Civil Defense was awarded the International Elevate Award during the annual festival held in the city of Graz, Australia, in recognition of the courage of its volunteers and their efforts to save lives.

German Fire Department Association medal

Medal For Incredible Courage

German Fire Department Association gave the Head of White Helmets, Raed Alsaleh, a medal for incredible courage and untiring readiness to help others.

Conrad Dietrich Magirus Prize

Syria Civil Defense received Conrad Dietrich Magirus Prize in recognition of its efforts in helping civilians and saving thousands of lives of Syrian civilians in 2015.

Make a Difference Award

Syrian American Medical Society “Make a Difference Award” Syria Civil Defense received the Make a Difference Award for the incredible efforts that are made in saving lives. Syria Civil Defense received the award during the eighteenth international conference in Istanbul on 30 May 2015.

Humanitarian Award "SAMS"

The Mother Teresa Award

Harvard Arab Alumni Association Award

Harvard Arab Alumni Association awarded the head of Syria Civil Defense, Raed Alsaleh in recognition of his humanitarian work in 2016.

Desmond Tutu Peace Prize

The Desmond Tutu Peace Prize was awarded to the Syrian Civil Defense jointly and in British Parliament, Jo Cox, the former labor MP. The prize was presented at the World Peace Forum on 12 November 2016 in Coventry, England.

Theirworld, Hope award 2017

The Syrian Civil Defense received the " THEIRWORLD AWARD 2017 "Hope'' during the International Women's Day ceremony in London. For the role of the Syrian Civil Defense volunteers in rescuing female victims, and in raising awareness of preventive measures among women and children.

Alternative Nobel prize

Alternative Nobel prize "Right Livelihood Award" The Syrian Civil Defense received the Right Livelihood Award in 2017 at a ceremony in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, for the courageous and successful activities in saving civilians

Arab Hope Maker Award

The Syrian Civil Defense received the Arab Hope Maker Award 2017 for the extraordinary efforts that are made in saving lives and returning the hope for more than six million people. The award was received in Dubai on 19 May 2017.

The McCain Institute for International Leadership at Arizona State University presented its 2018 Award for Courage and Leadership to the White Helmets for their heroic, brave work conducting volunteer search & rescue missions in Syria on 30 April 2018.

Elie Wiesel Award

Syria Civil Defense received “2019 Elie Wiesel Award” from U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on 1 May 2019 for exceptional courage in saving lives at enormous personal risk.

Istanbul Fire Department Gift

The Fire Department of Istanbul municipality gave the White Helmets a gift for their incredible courage and untiring readiness to help others.

Gandhi Peace Award

The volunteer Maysoon Almisri from the Syria Civil Defense and Dr. Zaher Sahloul from MedGlobal, have received Gandhi Peace Award in appreciation of the efforts made by the medical sector and rescue workers to save the lives of Syrians considering the military attacks of the regime and Russia
